Supporting Our Community For Over 70 Years

Allum Manor House and Hall is more than just a beautiful venue. For over 70 years we’ve been a registered charity dedicated to serving our community. Nestled in the heart of Elstree and Borehamwood, our historic property offers not only a stunning backdrop for events but also plays a vital role in fostering community spirit and supporting local charitable initiatives.

However, you may not be aware that, although a charity, we receive no external grants or funding. We receive no funds from Hertfordshire County Council or Hertsmere Council or the Town Council but operate solely on the revenue we generate ourselves, such as hire of Allum Hall and rooms in the Manor House.

The Importance Of Our Charitable Status

Having been a registered charity since 1951 means we rely on our community to sustain our operations. Our self-funded status allows us to maintain our independence and focus on our mission, but it also means we face unique challenges in covering our operating costs, maintaining our buildings, subsidising community programmes and investing for the future.

Run By Volunteer Trustees

Our organisation is governed by a dedicated group of unpaid volunteer trustees who are passionate about our mission. These individuals donate their time and expertise to ensure Allum Manor continues to serve as a vibrant community hub. Their commitment is vital to the success of our charity, and we are grateful for their hard work and vision.
